Tara is an award-winning playwright whose plays and monologues have been performed around the world from Norway to Thailand, Ireland to the UAE. Her work has been published by Smith & Kraus, YouthPLAYS, Oxford Press South Africa, LAMDA, Limelight, and Meriweather, including appearances in textbooks and “Best 10-Minute Plays” and “Best Stage Monologues” anthologies. Select honors include the Sloan Screenwriting Fellowship, AriZoni Theater Award for Excellence, Shubert Fellowship in Dramatic Writing, Arts Alive Recovery NY Regrant Award and Bradford Gromelski Jury Award. Tara has taught Playwriting to kids, teens and adults, script consulted on VR projects, and written for an interactive robot when Siri was only a twinkle in Apple’s eye. Recently, she designed and installed a multi-media immersive theatrical adventure for kids at a public library (about searching for tiny creatures called Booklings!). She holds her MFA in Dramatic Writing from Carnegie Mellon University and is a member of the Dramatists Guild. Tara lives near NYC with her family and dramatic fluffy cat, Kiwi. She is thrilled to be working with Erin and Tagragg Productions to create this special holiday production for Middleburg. Huge thanks to this amazing and talented team for bringing these characters to life! You can learn more about Tara’s work at tarameddaugh.com.
